How can i make rock/mineral stands?

I have about 250 rocks...although about 200 are from around my house. I treasure them all (yes I'm a nerd) but I only need stands for the 50 some that are actually interesting. I have a few sandstone stands right now (I have made stands grouping the same type of rocks) and have the other groups set out. Are there any other ways to make stands, or should I just stick to the carved sandstone stands?
