Baby Red-tailed Boa question?

ok, this past Friday I had 2 Red-tailed boas come in, male & female. Both are beautiful in color. Their face, eyes, and nose all look clear and skin is very nice. The girl who I got them from said they would need to eat that day on which i got them, but they wouldn't eat. Now I have had 2 ball pythons in the past and never had trouble with them eating. I was wondering if maybe I should let them get acquainted with their enclosure first, maybe that's why their not eating. She also said I might have to force feed them, which i never have done, but I will if i have to obviously. So if anyone can give me some info I would appreciate it. For now the boas are in a 55gal tank, 150w nocturnal light, stays around 85-90degrees, a large water tub and the substrate i use is eco-carpet and some moss- they seem to like it very well. Both snakes are handled and they seem to like it, very gentle .Also, not alot but sometimes the snakes seem to be breathing heavily and quick, like they just ran a marathon- I found that a little wierd. I seen this happen one time only.
